Thering Washington Mall, April 15, 2002 Shalom haverim! Peace, my friends. Indeed I stand with you today and always. When Pope John Paul II stood in Yad Vashem in Israel, he asked us Catholics-Christians to "Remember for a purpose." Today is such a purpose. Never before have Jews needed the support of Christians as right now. I believe, therefore, that I speak for all Catholics when I say we are in solidarity with you. My presence here signifies that. Never again can we abandon Jews. God has never revoked his/her Covenant with Jews. God has never revoked God's promise to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rachel, Rebecca and Leah. Am Yisroel Chai!
