What is NCLCI?

The National Christian Leadership Conference for Israel (NCLCI) is a network of Christians from diverse racial, ethnic, political and theological backgrounds, who are united in a shared commitment to the security and well-being of Israel in today's world.

Before the formation of the State of Israel, NCLCI's founders were advocating the need for a Jewish state in their historical homeland. They acknowledged the culpability of Christians in the two-millennial persecution of Jews and took up the battle to purge Christian teaching of its anti-Jewish contempt. Some of them wrote, taught and developed Holocaust studies while others created programs for Christian-Jewish dialogue. Their spirit animates present NCLCI deliberations and actions to confont the theological animus that has debased Christendom.

NCLCI recognizes that the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem have been at the heart of Jewish hope and identity for some four thousand years, ever since the days of Abraham, and acknowledges their importance to Jews everywhere, whether they live in Israel or elsewhere.

NCLCI appreciates the value of the reborn State of Israel being a democracy, where its citizens elect their government leaders and manage their own affairs.

NCLCI does not involve itself in Israel's internal politics. Instead, it tries to influence public opinion in America by encouraging Christians generally and people of influence particularly to learn about Israel and respect the right of Israelis to live as they chose in the peace and security of their homeland.
