Will Jordan remain stable?

“This is always the great question,” said Anja Wehler-Schoeck, the Jordan and Iraq resident director for Germany’s Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung during the July 14 panel “Jordan and the Challenges of Confronting ISIS Next Door,” held in Washington, D.C.’s Woodrow Wilson Center. She was joined in her discussion of internal developments in Jordan – especially since the onset of the Arab uprisings – by fellow panelist David Schenker of The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, who argued that Jordan has defied the odds since its independence year of 1946.
