Trapped in a brutal and bloody civil war, the people of Syria have seen their lives radically transformed into what can easily be described as hellish conditions. Since March 2011, tensions have escalated exponentially between the Sunni majority citizenry and President Bashar al-Assad’s Shia Alawite regime. It all began when several peaceful demonstrators protested against the government regime, but that protest did not last long. The authorities soon murdered the demonstrators. That act led to increased social unrest and more and more protestors began speaking out against the government.
