Five injured in mass-stabbing attack at New York Hanukkah party

NCLCI Urges Christians to Stand in Solidarity with the Jewish Community

Following Monsey, NY Stabbing Attack

December 29, 2019

MINNEAPOLIS — The National Christian Leadership Conference for Israel (NCLCI) urges Christians to stand in solidarity with the Jewish community in the United States and around the world in the wake of the most recent antisemitic attack in Monsey, NY. On the evening of December 28th, an intruder entered Rabbi Chaim Rottenberg’s home and carried out a horrific stabbing attack that injured at least five people who were gathered to celebrate the seventh night of Chanukah.

This attack was the latest in what has been a particularly difficult year for Jews in the United States. As 2019 comes to a close, we are increasingly alarmed by the dramatic rise in antisemitic attacks in the United States over the past year, and in particular by the almost daily attacks in New York in the past week as the Jewish community was celebrating Chanukah.

NCLCI calls on all Christians to publicly condemn all attacks on the Jewish people and the radical, antisemitic ideologies that provide the inspiration for many of these attacks. We urge all Christians to support their Jewish brothers and sisters in tangible ways and commit to protect the Jewish community from those who seek to harm and destroy them.

As one tangible demonstration of support, please call your local synagogue or Jewish Federation and let them know that you stand in solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people.

NCLCI was founded in 1978 to encourage and develop understanding and support for the people, land, and State of Israel in the North American Christian community.
